There are days when she wants to help with EVERYTHING and I don’t always
need want her help. I know it will make my duties take a lot longer and there will be more of a mess. But, on these days, I say a silent prayer that I can gracefully include this little one into my life. Into what I do.
In folding the laundry, even though I know the socks will become mis-matched. In pushing the buttons on the microwave, even while I am busy trying to get dinner on the table. In carrying in Chase’s dog dish so that he can be fed, even though there might be some dog food dropped on the floor along the way.
Yes, all of these processes will be slower and much messier in turn, but can I remember that in letting her help ME, that I am the one that is helping HER? Helping build her confidence, her beauty, her interests. And, amongst all of the hurry and mess, isn’t that the most important thing?
So, help on, my sweet one. Help on…
This week helping me in the kitchen resulted in the world’s BEST play dough cookies. Seriously, people… they were delish.
One more THOUGHT I’ve been chewing on this week… From the lovely Ann Voskamp, who seems to get me every time with her beautiful words. This resonated within me, not only through the voice of my posts, but in my photography and craft… and in my very life.
Happy week to you all!
